31 Day Nail Challenge - Day 1 - Red

With the weather the way it's been lately all I can think about is summer refreshers! This is where I got my Inspro from for my Red nails for day 1 of the challenge.

I love this look it's so cute and summery, although everytime I look at them it makes me hungry :)

So here is what I used to do this look. I'm sure if you did it yourself it would be alot better than my rushed quick job at 11 at night :/ really need to start sleeping more :)

Collection 2000 - Hot Looks

I got these from Superdrug at £1.19 and I'm amazed at how nice it goes on. Surprisingly one of my fave polishes to use.

Big Hair - Red
Ninja - Green

Barry M - Yellow- 134
You can never go wrong with a Barry M polish although I think there alot cheaper ones out there that are better to apply and give and amazing finish.

17 Lasting Fix- Mellow Yellow
So this was a prezzi and I love it! It has a gold shimmer too it and it is great for summer :)

31 Day Nail Challenge

Right so now that I'm mind boggled by reading up about so many nail bite remedies, I have decided to do it my own way :/

As I wear false nails a lot of the time 'as mine are so short from the nasty habit' I am going to do the 31 Day Nail Challenge. Your most likely thinking how this is going to make my nails grow but..... if I am wearing fakes for 31 days surly my nails underneath will grow!?!

I will make sure that I look after them everyday and re-apply some fakes then I am hoping that they will grown enough and look nice so that I dont bite them! :)

I will keep you up to date on my own nail progress and also my 31 Day Nail Challenge designs! :)

Polka Dots!

Okay so I started seeing loads of cute and firly designs online using polka dots. At the time I didn't have any dotting tools so I just used a fine nail brush. I think they turned out okay but not the best. I have just gone to eBay to buy the correct tools so hopfully next time I post some pictures like this they will look better.

Still I think for the little amount of time it takes to do these it's a very effective finish, and the compliments I got at work the next day were well worth it.

Nibble No More

So I love trying out new nail art all the time the only thing is that I bite my own nails! :/

For the past 5 months I have been using fake nails that I buy from boots for £6.00 for a pack of 100, they last forever and look very real so I am more than happy with them. But lately I just want to give my nails a rest as they are feeling weak. Ever since I can remember I have bitten my nails, throughout the years I have tried various different nail bite solutions that you dip your nail into, but still i have had no successes. My willpower alone is rubbish no matter how hard I try I will just bite them without thinking.

I have heard that many people go for hypnosis but I believe this i quite pricey and extreme.

can anyone recommend anything they used?

The Games

I have been saying for a few months that I was not bothered by the Olympics, with me not being a very sporty person it wasn't anything that intrested me. But over the past few days it has been hard not to see the odd game here and there. Watching Rebecca Adlington's 400m freestyle it was her nail art that caught my eye, not the big bronze medal around her neck. After seeing this I automatically scanned the internet to see what other athletes were also showing their nail art off!

Adlington wasn't the only one to have embraced the trend, with US tennis ace Venus Williams flashing her stars and stripe nails during a press conference. Mexican archer Aida Roman sporting a gold design with her country's national colours in the woman's team quarter final. Others taht also popped up were impressive manicures by German track cycling team member Kristina Vogel, who had a black, red and gold design. But best of all weightlifter Luz Mecedes Acosta Valdez incorporated both the Mexican and Great British flags.

After doing a little bit more research it turns out that nail artist Sophy Robson, who joined with Procter & Gamvle (P&G) have provided nail services to the athletes and guests in the Olympic Village.

You can find loads of Olympic nail tutorials online such as YouTube if you want to give it ago yourself. I lover teh fact that the female athletes are showing their personality's with their nail art. I think it also brings a bit more colour to teh games!

Can't wait to see more......

And this is my take on the look...

Stripes

So I bit the Bullet and decided to buy some striping tape after hearing how easy and amazing it was. I searched through eBay and found a set of 10 different colour tapes for a massive £2.00 by Tool-zoom. So everyday I have been hoping they would arrive and then finally they did, only 3 days had passed! :) I ripped open the package and fount the 10 mixed striping tapes and was already like a little kid at Christmas.

I was thinking of just trying the normal fan effect or stripes but saw some amazing designs online inspired me to try some like it for myself. I had read they had been free hnaded into sections but i wasn't as confident with my skaky hands! So I cleaned the base of the nail first and applied a whire base coat. Once this had dried I started applying some green tape as I knew I would use this the least (like a stencil). I made a cross on one nail and different thickness of stripes on the others. I picked the colours I wanted and carefully filled in the sections on my nails. Before it had time to dry I peeled the green rape leaving the white from the base showing.

Once these had fully dried I found some gold tape and replaced where teh green tape had been and there you have it!

I am in love with them at the moment and dont want to change them again!
:)
